Oland

In Oland, where the wind meets the sea,
A love story once began for you and me.
We walked along the shore hand in hand,
Promised to love each other, never to disband.

Old fate had a different plan heretofore,
As you were called to heaven's door.
My heart shattered into a million pieces,
As I struggled to accept life's unpredictable creases.

The memories of our love still linger on,
The sound of your laughter, warmth and charm.
I close my eyes and see you in my dreams,
Hoping that you hear my silent screams.

The island of Oland where our love bloomed,
Now seems empty, dark and doomed.
Sadly I know that you're watching over me,
A guiding light, a star in the endless sea.

In the stillness of the night, I talk to you,
Whispering sweet nothings, hoping you'll hear them too.
For love knows no boundaries, timeless as the sky
In my heart, my tears will cry, why oh lord, why oh why

So here's to the love we once shared,
A memory that will never be impaired.
In Oland, where the wind meets the sea,
I'll love you now and for eternity.

A lovely Love poem, Aysha. Your sincere thoughts of Love, life and eternity were engaging. The tenderness of your memories was touching. It's sad when life's creases get in the way of Love but knowing that it is eternal is a deep comfort. Thanks for sharing your thoughts through your poetry, my new friend. Bill

Emotions and feelings so dexterously brought out. In the stillness of the night, I talk to you : the contrast is strikingly beautiful.

Heartfelt poem of love and loss. As i've felt your pain and sadness. Today I drove into town reaching over the passenger side to pat his lap.. Memories never leave.

Lovely poem. It's really clever the way you use an oxymoron, silent screams and the repetition 'where the wind meets the sea'. You're talented and evoke emotion for the reader. Dave.

Eternal love at the Baltic Sea. Norse mythology, one Old Norse poem, "Fáfnismál", warns that struggling against fate is as pointless as rowing a boat against a fierce wind. I enjoy your poetry Aysha~Anaya

Aysha, you've written excellent poetry. Many emotions and feelings were conveyed here that will never vanish. Your words are quite motivating in terms of attachment and love, and your imagery is of high caliber. Im not sure if you know that there are free contests for poets if you can try them I'm sure you will do very well too.
