Oh These Nights

The night came down to just you and me. Everything was as calm as the sea. How are bodies met and our lips touched? I felt your heart beat, so in tune with mine, as my breath got faster so did time. I held your hand and you kissed my lips, we laid there together in pure bliss. In the car I held you close and laid my head on your shoulder, you grasped my hands as it began to get colder. Time past so fast and we couldn't let go of each other’s lips. I just wouldn't let go of your kiss. The last day we spent together was like a world in Heaven, it can't even be explained, like why it's calm before the rain. I love the way you smile at me when I sing to you, and there’s nothing else I'd rather do. You were so cute with the way you'd sing along with each word I sang. And at that moment everything that I felt that could not be done, suddenly became I can. With the moon in the sky we said good-bye, it was time for me to go, oh these nights’ will only know.
