O, I remember,
as I look at our photo collection;
those sweet days of our last December,
from our happy smiles life looked like perfection.
We hid our pain,
to keep us from going totally insane;
here we are smiling with our friend,
see how easily we could pretend.
O, I remember,
going for walks hand in hand;
and the beautiful leaves of September,
now, at our child's grave alone I stand.
As the wind blows,
I lay down a perfect white baby rose;
not long ago you left for your own rest,
to have had you, I was blessed.
O, I remember,
meeting you for the first time;
yes, it was on a chilly day in November,
each day with you was beautiful and sublime.
I have no regrets,
although broken my heart never forgets;
we do not get to plan the path of our life,
it is carved by destiny with a knife.
