Offer The Other Cheek
To offer the other cheek seems weak,
but it requires courage not to fight.
Jesus bequeathed the Earth to the meek
who don't seek revenge for every slight;
for two wrongs can never make a right.
Violence begets more violence,
opening doors that cannot be closed.
And you will suffer shame in silence
with your inhumanity exposed,
inheriting the pain you imposed.
