              of rape and shame

          now her perfume’s gone 
     fresh compost came to reclaim
             then a bud appeared 
             earlier than expected 
   should mulch propagate his name

How shameful is rape but at least it leads to healing.

I can only imagine the healing takes a very long time Victor if ever, the victims need support and should be allowed to choose for themselves what path to take in the whole healing process, cheers David

A terryfying experience for sure David, if it was down I'd castrate the rapists. Shame for some that end up having the scumbags baby. Enjoy your weekend. Tom

David your Tanka "of rape and shame" seems to be the renewal and rebirth of life after a traumatic experience. It seems to deal with the aftermath of a violation, despite the dark connotations, you also suggest hope and regeneration through the imagery of compost reclaiming, a bud appearing. Well done my friend.

Thank you Lasaad! I suppose on the whole this one uses flora and fauna metaphor to express the natural process of life and regeneration, but I believe as intelligent human beings (women) who underwent a traumatic event (rape) should have choice to interfere with nature! Cheers David
