Odyssey of Night

We've sought our sextant, fair and free, Thus bound with dreams, this starlit sea - Should other sentience thrive, perchance, And wend the depths of great expanse. Abaft the beam glow maelstroms, bright, That guide us through the endless night, From star-to-star we bound and prance, And wend the depths of great expanse. Such wonders found, and more to glean - Strange worlds no eyes have ever seen, But bent with time, we can't but glance, And wend the depths of great expanse. We strive to know the stars, white hot, And learn the myst'ries physics wrought, To spin those spheres of grand romance, And wend the depths of great expanse. While here-and-there, we'll find a world Much like our own, with bounties, furled, Our stores refreshed, we then advance, And wend the depths of great expanse. One day we'll reach a realm, quite grand, With care-worn hearts, drop anchor, and Upon those shores, commend our dance ...
