Ode To Art

Is there a last word
of Beauty? A Definitive?

Perhaps a perfect chord,
replacing all, both past,
present and future – ceasing need
for the reworking of tune-able vibration –

our constant tufting of soulful eyes
and ears...the rehearsing of instruments,
their sound-full visions, till every
voice but an echo entirely unwrapped,
becoming silent display, victim of its
own enlightened trills....

I pray not! Wishing eternal man's
spirit and His God! Never the two
remaining exactly the same for the other.
Always a new awareness and discovery!
Thus, then, sustained the poet, the artist
and the musician – sacred and personal
to each heaven
and its earth,
in a universe infinite
and
sublimely
changing....
