October's Horizon

Grieving over postscripts

of a faded summer memory,

an outstretched autumn's arm

reaches through the trees---

-

Her leaf-fluttered hand expands,

brushing past dark branch silhouettes...

while tossing new nightlights

into the October harvest sky.

"New night lights into the December sky." Great ending, Carrie. The December sky is so different....I suppose it's imagination, but I'm always blasted by the bleakness, yet thrilled by thought of the coming season. Love, daver

I honestly read this a few times Carrie so that I could digest your brilliance. Icy tears upon branches, bent grass, all beautiful lines. The poem flows well and the personification is excellent. This poem came alive. Great write.
