October Tease - Etheree


Spent,
Summer
sets the stage
withdraws on cue
beneath cloudless blue.
October lays her quilt
upon chilled and browning fields
leaves - a touch of artist’s brush
cool breath upon the neck of Winter
soft dalliance as rainbow curtain falls.

John, it's so strange. When I google just the word "artist's" it comes up as two syllables but then when I google the whole line that word appears in, they count it as three syllables. I just got hung up on that! anyway, I liked the little things you did in this one, such as rhyming blue with cue and using such great personification at the end of this poem. Last two lines stunning. Congrats in my contest.
