Oblivion
“Oblivion: the fact or condition of not remembering : a state marked by lack of awareness or consciousness” ~ Dictionary meaning
How aware are we, considering that we know not who we are
Strange it is that most of care not enough to investigate
Content donning the label of a fictitious avatar
Ignorant of our true origin, in stupor we stagnate
Yet in moments of quietude we do hear our soul’s call
But heeding not love’s whispers, we let ego cravings dictate
It seems we’re doomed to oblivion, unless the truth we recall
We notice that fears and desires are fed by lower mind
So from thought spirals we make our withdrawal
Befriending silence, with the vast void entwined
Surrendering ego, relinquishing each conditioned belief
We regain soul’s blissful lustre, that God Himself has designed
Thus indulgence in desire, fuelled by our thoughts, is joy’s thief
To exit delusion, we must allow that that never was to die
Awareness self-aware resurfaces, granting soul relief
God dwells in the cave of our heart, allow His love to vivify
As the false self falls away, we become the vastness of the sky
