Oak Haven

Silhouetted against a rising full moon Stands a lone live oak in solitude A haven for homeless woodland creatures Graceful limbs mark its features Untouched as land was cleared for wood Its beauty left it where it stood “Come unto me all ye homeless and broken Herein find ye rest” soundlessly spoken Written by: Debra Squyres 5-4-2012

This is a beautiful poem Debra. Soundlessly spoken. Great way to say it. Hope your bones are thawing out from winter. Peace. :)

Gorgeous, Debra. My sister was the primary caregiver to my dad during stage 4 of cancer and then we both lived with him in palliative care for a month. I hope that writing poetry, when you find the time to do so which I KNOW is hard to do, brings you some peace and comfort. I also know how emotionally spent you can get and hope you have help, too! Bless you dear! May you have an oak around to provide that support! Hugs, Cyndi

I wish that I was a squirrel. I know a tree like this by my house. It's so nice when they leave one. Very nice poem Debra.
