Reading to your child can open the door to many possibilities..
I loved nursery rhymes as a child. Just listening to them being read Relaxed me, made me smile, calmed the wild. Rhymes like "Little Miss Muffet" who frightened fled. And "Little Boy Blue' who slept soundly when he lay his head. Then I had a teacer who quoted poems From her gifted head, drew me into the flow When certain rhythm of words was read. My heart began to internally glow. Within my being the love did grow. Then time and crisis opened the closed door. I began to try to write to deal with stress. A major health crisis opened more My heart to let my deep feelings confess. Writing helps heal great distress... Sponsor: Michael J. Falotico Contest: What Brought You To Poetry???

Love this nostalgic opiece, my friend. I can remember my teacher reading the class nursery rhymes too. My favourite was when she read us a little poem about the Eddystone Lighthouse keeper. Something about his marrying a mermaid.
