Nuclear Power Plant Hit In Ukraine Today

Dear Fellow Poets, One and All As a lover and defender of freedom my whole life, I feel duty-bound to inform you, just in case you missed it, that the unthinkable has now happened. Russia shelled the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine early this morning. (Source: Associated Press, 1:45 a.m., March 03, 2022). The plant is actually on fire now. Should Zaporizhzhia explode, much of Europe will be exposed to deadly radiation. Zaporizhzhia is the largest nuclear power plant in all of Europe. It is much, much larger than the one in Chernobyl which killed so many in 1986, including David Freydin's father in Kursk, 337 miles away. (David, a Chicago-area attorney, was a student of mine, 1992-1995, at Yeshivas Brisk Academy High School in Chicago, now defunct). Make no mistake, my dear friends: Mr. Putin will be coming after everyone on this planet, esp. in Europe and the USA next -- if we don't stop him cold NOW. I urge all of you residing in the USA to email President Biden, your two Senators in Washington, and your Representative. You can google email President Biden for example, and you will get a user-friendly site on which you can email him. Same with the others Ask them to get off of the sidelines and start leading the fight for freedom. The Ukrainians cannot and must not be left to fend off Russia alone! America must do her part, must take the lead. It is time for America to employ the most powerful army in the world to defeat Russia, end the threat of nuclear war, and hopefully, silence the monster named Putin forever. Please Keep your emails as brief as possible, and to the point. Make sure to include the nuclear threat of Zaporizhzhia, the need to lead the fight for freedom by defeating Russia militarily, and the imperative to save thousands - if not millions - of lives all over the world, including those of the legislators in Washington D.C. Gershon, it's my understanding that the fire has been extinguished in the training facility section and none of the reactors were hit or affected. Thank God! Too bad Ukraine didn't hold back some nuclear weapons, as Putin may have given second thought to bombing a nuclear facility. Many of the Russian soldiers are demoralized by this immoral action and are defecting in the Ukraine! Amen!

Yes, you're right about the fire being put out. That was well after I posted my poem... We all got lucky in that sense... Now, however, Russia controls the nuclear plant. They can do whatever they want with it, including shutting it down and squeezing Europe's power supply further. ~ Shudder, gw

I agree with most everything you say, Gershon. Sad to hear of your Student's personal tragedy. Where I disagree is, Biden is not on the sidelines. I believe he is complicit. Good cop/bad cop. Many political leaders have little if any allegiance to their countries -- they see themselves as globalists, using the masses as expendable pawns in their games of world domination. No proof for my beliefs, only my own lying eyes and dirty little ears. Trump was the best of the lot. Not perfect. But clear visioned.

Trump did a lot of Good. Limited Putin's income from energy (so he couldn't buy at lot of bombs), was one of the most Pro Israeli Presidents in modern History...a long list of positives for Trump -- so, you don't like him, I get it. Just like the Teacher's Union. The rest of the lot, I agree with you. Worthless self-serving politicians.

I don't really disagree with you about Biden. But one goes to war with the leader(s) he's got, and we're stuck with JB... As for Trump, Obama before him, and Bush Jr. before Obama, none of them did anything significant to stop Putin. All of them befriended him at one point or another. How clueless and feckless, in my opinion. Anyway, Putin must be stopped now. Agreed?! :) gw

More good than writing senators would be to fight for a fair elections. Marxist Democrats will pull out all stops to fix the next election, in order to stay in power. Just came out devastating report, out-lining corruption in Wisconsin. We need to restore the American people back to power, allowing them to choose their own leaders. We are, like the masses of most informed nations, good people in our hearts and souls. Joe.

The die was cast when America withdrew from Afghanistan, signalling weakness. NATO expanding eastward, Russia nervous (has voiced it for a while), China looking at Taiwan, maybe Australia even. The world is a dangerous place now, owing to phlegmatic indifference and inertia.

If a huge nuclear plant is hit and if it explodes, the radiation it creates will be tremendous and so very lethal ! The sinister power monger is unleashing hell on the world ! Your appeal is earnestly received. May God bring peace on Earth!

Omg! Gershon, I wasn’t aware of this because I don’t watch the news. It saddens me that this is happening in Ukraine. I agree we all need to take a unified stance and stop him cold. Because he could be coming for us( USA) next. Thanks for penning such an eye-opening and informative write-Alexis

Alexis, thank you so much for your response. I beg of you, please google the email contact info for Biden and your 2 Senators in Washington. You'll find it easily. Please email them that Putin has shelled the largest nuclear power plant in Ukraine, that danger exists right now, that the USA has to join and lead the fight to defeat Putin and Russia militarily. 'Cos if we don't, you and I and Biden are at risk of a nuclear holocaust. I do not exaggerate, my friend. We are the country to stop a Russia gone mad. It's up to us.
