Nowadays

Nowadays, people are afraid to be alone with self (one’s own thoughts)—addicted to the static of distraction, gadgets for ears and mantras for the mind… as though an inherent, Righteous-core were the enemy: we shut out voices of conscience and Divine Guide—echos of past lives while roadside markers for an enlightened future… we are stagnant in a deep sleep... animate though dead….

It all depends on one's mindset...I think some people can adapt to silence but some struggle with it... It's all about the voices

For sure; I am not promoting Schizophrenia, or making light of such a horrible ailment. But anyone who practices mystic silence, will soon discover that, once truly quiet (the human form and its mind) it is not silence one experiences but a release of inspiration. You have inside of you already all knowledge of past and future. All the great composers, scientists (though many are not consciously aware of it) create from this silence. It is of such silence I speak. And it is not for everyone. A lot of training goes into reaching profound depths then returning safely. It really should not be something learned alone from a book. One could open himself up to very negative, destructive forces.
