Now Voyager
Bare-stemmed through the trials and tribulations,
rambling rose steered close the steadfast trail;
laid bedrock in the shift of Mother Earth
and coaxed painstaking roots through hill and dale.
And now the tolling bell rings out the changes,
the swallows scatter clouds proclaiming Spring;
transition to the alternating gears,
new panoramas and the world they bring.
The baggage of enslavement fates cold storage,
and fades into the past where it belongs;
grapnels grey and middling, shrugged, forgotten,
whilst winds of change compose a dulcet song.
Now voyager, free of fugitive encumbrance,
breathes vigour in the kiss of morning dew;
the nimbus of horizons sweeps and beckons,
now voyager, self-defining, starts anew.
