I’m driving home; it is November first. I see above me sky so blue and clear. With gratitude my heart is sure to burst, and all around are things that I hold dear: the mountains most majestic in my view and with my window down, cool autumn breeze I feel as I drive down the avenue which leads me past a myriad bright trees that illustrate my pretty city’s name. Yes, “Pleasant Grove” so aptly fits this place, which long ago was one big grove! My aim today is to enjoy the fall’s sweet grace. Day of the Dead it is, but well-alive am I this day, and nature’s splendors thrive. Nov. 2, 2019 written from remembering my yesterday's drive on Nov. 1

You take the reader on the lovely journey through the scenic areas of Pleasant Grove, Andrea. It's the perfect ride for the first day of November. And I see you won in Chantelle's contest, so congratulations! Best wishes, Carolyn

Congrats, Andrea! As Soup's leading poetess, I was surprised you only received a 9th place win. I got the usual N/A from Chantelle. I'll just skip over any contests she sponsors so I won't be disappointed.
