Nothing To Share

Waiting for inspiration to strike Don't think there will be any tonight I'm two cups of tea in With nothing to share A very clear indicator That nothing is there My mind tumbles and tosses Like an empty drum Maybe everything is out And my work here is done The aim was to clear myself of all extraneous thought Be breezy or at least a little less fraught How strange to grab and tease at ideas Usually I don't need to beg for volunteers The usual landscape I find in my head Is one of chaos with no safe place to tread But there we are, maybe I'll rest for the night Better than risking being boring and trite
