Nothing Gold Can Stay
Nothing gold can stay
It's simply had away
People want what's yours
Catch you unawares
Hide your prized possession
Or it'll be someone else's obsession
That's what it's like, living on the rough streets
Council housing, hardly enough to eat
Nothing good or gold is mine
Treasure rubbish by design
Make sure nothing is observed
It'll be taken by those with the nerve
Look confident as you walk about
Careful not to look like you have 'owt
Silver, gold, leather, money, or designer name
Just don't bother, someone else will claim
If everything you have is unknown
There's a chance you'll be left alone
It's not worth having gold you see
Protecting it brings misery
