Nothing But Time
Has it been so long ago
Have we gone and gotton old
Yesterday we had nothing but time
Tomorrow which one will be left behind
We settle down and take things slow
We worry less and let things go
In our hearts we both know
Our memories drift like falling snow
Let me hold your hand in mine
Let us walk with arms entwine
Let me steal that tender kiss
As with each step we fondly reminisce
A purple curtain falls darkening the sky
Silvery stars twinkle their lullabies
At life's edge who will first say goodbye
Nothing but time for the one who survives
The will to live for one another grows
Being together is all we both know
Enjoying our memories as they last
Alas, even time itself shall pass
