Not Wholly

"If blood could speak
    or souls would seek
         the meaning of it all"

^^^^^^

 spirits sinking low
 dancing on thick walls
 sipping shakes of liberty
 spewing out cat calls

 have we no integrity
 no common sense at all
to care just a little bit
for those gone down those halls

 halls of searing sacrifice
 lives 'spent' in highest hopes
 now... all too oft' forgotten
as we ride our shallow dreams

 ^^^^^^

"Blood does speak out
yet we have no ear to hear

 souls do seek...
 yet not
wholly"

"Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a rebellious house, which have eyes to see, and see not; they have ears to hear, and hear not: for they are a rebellious house."
 Ezekiel 12:2

The apostate Israelites whom God was trying to correct. They listened to his words like they were listening to a hit song. They liked the melody and lyrics but it didn't move them to change their course or behavior. You are a reflective writer. Good writing.
