Not His Day
His habit to put his socks on first
Started these shenanigans one day
After a shower, he donned said socks
With one sagging in a nagging way
He should have bent over to get it
For raising his foot was not smart
It got caught in his gold necklace
A gift from which he, would not part
Nude but for socks, (one still sagging)
He hopped from the bath to the hall
Then he heard a knock on his door
His girlfriend early, without a call?
He thought, "I told her no need to knock"
With a hop, he said "come in dear!"
And yelled "lord!", when he hopped on a tack
Then fell, which was his worst fear!
Landing on his back with a foot up,
Moaning, "I'm in need of an assist!"
Mortified, when his pastor walked in
Who said, "What kind of lewdness is this?"
"Lord help me understand this lesson.",
The preacher said under his breath
Dutifully helping the fellow
An affair they both took to their death!
