Not Alone

I played every game determined to succeed
But when we were done playing, I didn't win
Yet, I continue to cherish happy feelings
For someone out there was cheering for me.

When I fell down, I tried my best to get up
And I don't remember sending a distress-signal.
When ambulance arrived, I smiled with a glee
For someone out there was thinking of me.

As I continue to anguish in a chronic illness
I never thought of asking for anybody's help,
But when I received flowers, I felt good again
For someone out there holds on to my name.

I let myself down when I heard my own cry,
I never said a prayer as I continued to defy
Until church bells rang and I started to kneel
For someone out there has been praying for me.

Vijay a well written poem about playing the game of life. Winning has as many definitions as the number of players. You did win just not what you expected. Well done.
