Nativity foremost Next to the Christmas tree. Numerous carols sung Near twilight Christmas eve. Nourished with special treats, Nocturnes joyously played. Namaste to the world. December 23, 2016 Merry Christmas And Happy New Year Pleiades Contest Sponsor Andrea Dietrich Note: NOEL capitalized : means christmas English speakers borrowed the word noel from French. It can be traced further back to the Latin word natalis, which can mean "birthday" as a noun or "of or relating to birth" as an adjective. (The English adjective natal has the same meaning and is also an offspring of natalis.). Noels were being sung in Latin or French for centuries before the word found its way into our language in the 1800s. The earliest known musical use of noel occurred in the text of a Christmas motet called "Nova vobis gaudia," which was written in the 1400s. Namaste: an ancient Sanskrit greeting still in everyday use in India and especially on the trail in the Nepal Himalaya. Translated roughly, it means "I bow to the God within you", or "The Spirit within me salutes the Spirit in you" - a knowing that we are all made from the same One Divine Consciousness.

Hi, again, Connie. Just revisiting the pleiades you did for my contest. I see Caycay finds this type of poetry to be just an intellectual accomplishment. haha. But they are just fun to do as contests as I think. It looks like Caycay is catching up on all your poetry too. I wonder if she will see all MY comments as she goes through your list. I believe I have seen them all but I always wonder if maybe one or two got past me!! happy New Moon, lovely lady!

Thank you Andrea. I am not feeling well, so have not written anything new. Haven't been out of bed yet, but I am on the mend. Happy New Moon to you too! : )

For me this form is too restrictive to fulfill any sense but that of an intellectual accomplishment. Saying that (in regard to all pleiades), you did an impressive job with Noel, plus I enjoyed reading your notes that were engaging and informative. I looked at your poem list and cannot believe you've about 7 I haven't read - and I thought I was on top of things! I'm off to enjoy more of your postings. Love ... CayCay
