No Title, Yet - 36
Whether I like it or not, you’ve impacted my life.
Although we didn’t last, you will always be with me.
I truly thought you were the one to become my wife,
But as time goes on, I am able to clearly see.
It was the things we had in common that did us in,
‘Cause we both wanted to control the situation.
Our differences were small in true comparison.
We both fell in love purely on infatuation.
Though we were together for such a very short time,
There are memories that I will forever cherish.
Sometimes, I’m able to look through all the dirt and grime.
It’s in these quiet moments that I can only wish.
I suppose it’s pointless to wonder what might have been,
But I can’t help to think about what we did so wrong.
For the rest of my life, I’ll think of you now and then,
With hopeful thoughts that you are living your true love song.
