No Runner-Ups In Love
How many times will I settle for less
Before I realize that I deserve the best
How many times will I let my heart break
Before I understand that some love is fake
I've been the second choice too many times
Settling for scraps, accepting half-hearted lines
But now I know that love is not a game
And I won't play along, I won't be the same
There are no runner-ups in love, it's true
I won't be a consolation prize for you
I'll wait for someone who will choose me first
Who sees my worth and puts me above else
So I'll take a step back, I'll let go
Of all the love that wasn't meant to grow
And I'll hold out for the one who will see
That I am their first choice, their destiny
No more settling, no more second place
I'll wait for the love that will embrace
All that I am, all that I can be
For there are no runner-ups in love, you see
