P- “Poets have been mysteriously silent O- On the subject of cheese.” I quote E- Essayist G. K. Chesterton's thoughts. M- Molded from Thomas Carlyle, these words: S- "Speech is silver; silence is golden." A- Arise, to your pens, ye poets of today, R- Re-write like there's no tomorrow. E- Eventually thoughts will match up with words. H- Harold Camping wrote the world will end; A- And dating it brought him much sorrow. R- Ripening of thought is like cheese and wine, D- Distilling the words takes time to age.

I love the mixture of serious poets and critics and the child-like acrostic form.

thank you, Cecilia, I've played with this theme (from GKC) for many a year. Glad you left such a pleasant comment on my juvenilia piece. Acrostics are pretty simple to write, especially if unrhymed like this one. Appreciate the placement.
