I see poems only the poet understands which results in… No comment
I see poems get POTD with only the poets own comments on … No comment
I see new poems posted with 800 reads but curiously there is ... No comment
I see poems posted yet the poet hasn’t written themselves …. No comment
I see poems with comments turned off for no real reason... No comment
I see crap on blogs by those who have lost their moral compass ... No comment
I see poems posted with the intention to hurt me and others... No comment
I see barbed comments hurled at others for not commenting … NO COMMENT!!!!


I see I am currently top of the community builders... I COMMENT!

Brian Sambourne August 5, 2023 at 6:50 PM Hi Jan, Much food for thought in your fine posting. I find it difficult to comment unless I've really found something creatively original in the poem submitted. However, I agree that the "chuckles poems" readily invite a response. Additionally, there seems a closed circle of friend-poets who've been on PS for many years. Tough to break thru that closure. Thank you for raising these intriguing insights. Also I may read say 5 poems before I find one I feel i can comment about... but humour always hits the spot with me :-) xx

Jan Allison August 5, 2023 at 1:50 PM Recently I made 55 comments in one day, I got about 9 back. the more actively we comment hopefully we will get them reciprocated but I know from my own life its easier said than done. I know i will never catch up on the backlog from when I stopped writing for 9 months, but I am trying to make up for it now:-) I would rather receive a 1 word comment than none at all:-) hugs jan xx

The Situation August 5, 2023 at 1:00 PM Compleatly understandable. I see poems that should be stories- No comment. I have to search and find the real work of poetry. I see vocabulary savagely abused and misused more intelegent than romantic. It doesnt make me think it makes me regret that I wasted my time trying to stay awake. David Kavanagh August 5, 2023 at 3:50 AM Mind if I comment Jan, I’ll just add,this one is brutally honest, making a complete mockery out of all the shenanigans going on here at the soup, brilliantly crafted, hope you’ve opened an eye or two today, or at least let people know you see through their bigger game plan picture, cheers David Jan Allison August 5, 2023 at 11:17 AM I have been truly appalled by the actions of some on recent blogs - I have met Victor on at least 4 occasions, to have his health issues detailed like it was a shopping list beggars belief and then to say he wouldn't mind it being posted is pure BS, and as for rumours of him being close to death .... makes you question why people do it. As for the other things - all true and witnessed since I returned. but hey ho who cares its only poetry soup
