too late oops!

On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will cross North America, passing over Mexico, the United States, and Canada. A total solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking the face of the Sun.The sky will darken as if it were dawn or dusk. There won’t be one for another 20 Years!

*Descartes was a French philosopher, scientist, and mathematician, widely considered a seminal figure in the emergence of modern philosophy and science. Mathematics was paramount to his method of inquiry, and he connected the previously separate fields of geometry and algebra into analytic geometry. images by pincrest

Nineveh * *Deep I have fallen eyelids leaden with sleep just a hole to crawl in and rest my feet * drifting into a slumber * Brief moments under ‘Neath the faraway pillars of our galaxy, there young stars * form from dust, born to shine bright * I lie on the crust with deliverance *Another celestial experience about to unfold holds me captive behold the Ninevh Eclipse Ready for cosmic forces, I sigh * A soft lilting voice from my lips I am emotionally reactive * Day’s azure sky darkened Misty purple mountain tops dim Epiphanic bliss on this dusky night To the breeze my heart’s harkened Whispering winds leave no trace Unseen to the naked eye, echoing back I’m here, to the blackened sacred sky * * Just hours ago I trekked the desert landscape, encountered a grassy knoll suited for the voyage and galactic escape An epochal event, science enigmatic Time paradox sans, well spent * * Silvery moon has stolen golden sun Total eclipse upon me, twilight’s begun Time elapsed suspending orange orbs aglow Unfazed, I’ve glimpsed UFOs! * Moon aligns with Sun’s bright face * The milky moon obscures Dubbed Period of Totality *Moments gone, then back to normality I safely peer boldly up to the shrouded star By far heaven’s most stellar gift to me The Path of Totality * With heels clicking, no place I’d rather be than swimming in twilight’s radiant show in *Descartes’s Twilight Zone

Dear Anaya, i love the pictures youv created for this poem and how youv written about eclipse, i find it always fascinating how nature works in such mysterious ways. I heard about the eclipse that is supposed to happen on 8th? If im not wrong, and it seems very intriguing and i am going to read a little more on that. I love the flow of your lines and also how youv written in such a descriptive manner: you have a very artistic way of expressing. Such eloquence! A fave this is for me

Nineveh is a city in the Path of Totality (eclipse) said to be the 8 Nineveh Cities in the US and that eclipse will pass along those cites on 8th. Solar eclipse entirely obscure the sun for eight North American towns named Nineveh, as claimed. Only two of the eight places named Nineveh mentioned Nineveh, Indiana, and Nineveh, Ohio -- will experience a total solar eclipse. The other six places called Nineveh listed are located outside the projected 115-mile-wide path of the moon's shadow and will experience a partial solar eclipse like every other town in the contiguous United States. There won't be another for 20 years!

A wonderful poem to a forgotten one. Be careful during the eclipse. Don't look at the sun, it might blind you.

Dear Anaya, your poem is a mesmerizing journey through celestial wonders, blending the cosmic spectacle of a total solar eclipse with introspective musings. I loved your imagery and lyrical prose for it transports me to a realm where time suspends and emotions intertwine with the celestial dance above. The juxtaposition of scientific marvels and personal reflections creates a rich experience, inviting us to ponder our place in the universe. Brilliant work, indeed. - Blessings, Daniel

I am overjoyed Daniel, "research does pay" is what I tell poets. What really matters is what is written from within us. Glad you've been transported, it's an honor to have taken you there. Thank you! Hugs, Anaya

Your words eclipse all other such narratives concerning this topic. It's 1,200 miles to Dallas, although there's nothing in Texas for me. It might be worth the trip. Seems everyone has the eclipse bug. A Fav Anaya! My best, Robert

The driving distance from California to Texas is approximately 1,382 miles or 2,224 kilometers. If you were to drive nonstop, it would take about 20 hours and 6 minutes. That’s quite a road trip! Let's go! haha JK. Thank you for the fave!

Beautiful Anaya, you really have the eclipse buzz, it oozes forth from your poem, a lot of research and work went into this one, (heels clicking, no place I’d rather be) I certainly agree, even if just for 4 minutes on a cloudless day, but the memory will last forever, an excellently penned piece, cheers David

We get a 90%+ one here in August 2026, but to see totality will need to fly to Spain, so if I’m still around I’m making it a date, lol!
