Nightmares

Falling into an abyss of nightmares, the world just spins around me as I fall, Colors, images, memories, it all blurs around me I can’t see anymore My eyes are open, I feel nothing It’s just an eternal empty void I close my eyes hoping to escape my current twisted reality As my eyelids start to close I feel a sharp pain sting through my back A loud THUD and a resounding BANG echo all around me I’ve hit a hard surface, but I still cannot see Suddenly, a light shines on my face It is not warm, it is not inviting, It is cold and penetrating I can see now There is a ringing in my ears, a repetitive shrill sound I can see now but there’s nothing around I’m laying here, on the cold stone floor, With this awful white light making me feel sore My other senses are awakening I can smell again It smells rotten, like something is dying I can smell again, the heavy scent of death lurking all around me My body is shivering, my teeth are chattering, I have been scraping at the floor, Clawing at my skin, I did not sense it till now The familiar smell of blood reaches me once again Each precious ruby red bead that drops from my hand, Is simply dripping, inviting death to come closer I turn my head slowly to the sound of footsteps, Deep, heavy thuds approaching me I watched and waited, for the apparition to come out of the darkness When nothing happened I turned my head back to my hand And counted the beautiful drops of blood, besmirching the pristine cement One by one by One by one... What a beautiful sensation ~ I don’t know how long it has been Time is meaningless and infinite My eyes are closed, I don’t remember closing them As a matter of fact, I don’t remember anything at all

I read this twice and not sure I comprehend, but I enjoyed your writing style.
