Nightmare

When moonbeams gleam, dreamland beckons We expect sweet dreams, not those that scare But a dream may change within seconds And take us to the realm of a nightmare A scary scene, a silent scream Heartbeats pound as fear we feel Trying to stop the nightmare theme We wonder then. is the bogeyman real? The sandman lulls us to sleep once more As dark clouds obscure the moon's glow But the nightmare returns as before And our fears continue to grow

Nightmares are rel, so real but you can't seem to escape. Last year I was very ill a Two days later, after coming home the ambulance had to take me to hospital, but the paramedics had to stabilize me, i dont remember 3 days of my life, on the fourth day was moved from ICU to the medical ward That night had the worst nightmare, screamed, woke up the other patients, and the sisters had to calm me. Nightmares are real in the mind. Great poem, very clever. PS Congrats on your win. Hugs and blessings, JENNIFER.

Alas, Joseph. Nightmares hardens ones spirits and quips life of the unexpected that ambulates e'er so oft, be conscious always, awake or asleep. 'Tis a wonderful expression of shared values, my friend. Aloha, William

Well penned Joseph and some of us can't control our dreams. I believe the reason I seldom have a nightmare is because I go to sleep thinking of good things or things that make me laugh or smile. Remember, what we have to fear is just Fear itself. Good job and an important message. God Bless, JB

I've had those nights. Not any fun, but our body is trying to tell us something and we should listen. Thank you for sharing and for dropping by my page. Sara K

"When moonbeams gleam, we expect sweet dreams." You're right about that. When a terrifying thought invades, it can be difficult returning to dreamland. May all your dreams be beautiful and poetic. Hugs, Brandy

oh my gosh! I hate when a nightmare returns, especially one in which my adrenaline keeps going, and going, and going. I appreciate your rhyme scheme and your imagery. I loved The sandman lulls us to sleep once more... As dark clouds obscure the moon's glow. Have a pleasant evening, sir. Sara

Those nightmares come to destroy sweet dreams. A scary scene, a silent scream Heartbeats pound as fear we feel--exactly! Well said, Joseph.
