In the tea trees to the whistling song thrush I alone hear the first September dawn, and outside beyond ryegrass, fern and rush glisten woolly coats of sheep early shorn. Smell the petrichor and jade scented hedge, the lambs, the honey bees in pollen’s net - that botany of sights and sounds, that fledge of young and new from moonrise to moonset. See in the mists swamphens and waterfowl and behold the prismatic dawn of spring - the morepork on nocturnal moonlit prowl that casts its eye and spreads its speckled wing. Oh to feel again its warm gentle breeze on greensward and dryads in the gnarled trees. Written: September 1996

Keith this is so well written. The way you describe the sheep and capture the smells and sounds during the first September dawn puts the reader there with your magical chosen words to bring the full affect to the reader. Written in 1996. Share some more of your old poems this one was so wonderful to read and experience. Thank you for sharing my friend. I read your comment on my poem of Taylor swift your comment made me laugh because she is an influencer and just think of all these people

that she influences, not a good thing my friend. I read your comment and I commented on your comment and I went to spell check a word for your comment and when I went back to type the word in your comment disappeared. So weird. Anyways thank you for your comment and I love this Poem of yours the picture is perfect for your Sonnet and I always respect and agree with your Political views. I will have to comeback and read more of your Poetry rally liked this one and I' going to make it a favorite. It puts me out there in this surreal moment of an early September Dawn...

Like bible verse psalms of Solomon. Even Lincoln thought it was the most beautiful poetry. Bravo

Yes, I am very pastoral. Hulk Hogan has a kinder gentler side too. Jus sayin.
