Never Be Mine
Foiled again, how naive of me
to think that you thought differently
to him, to them, to anyone
the games have only just begun
How hard is it, to keep pretence
and perch yourself upon the fence
that separates and sits between
decide which side appears more green
I won't fight and I won't wait
the boat has sailed but still sailed late
You had a chance, your inch, your time
you took your hands and covered mine
but yours were never mine to hold
same sad story, stale and old
