Clouds no longer shroud the moon Where mountains rise from west and east And moonlight's silvery glow is strewn Casting light upon the beast In Luna's glow the monster basks Its neck protruding from the water It's rarely seen by those you ask A legend lingering ever after In the distance there's a lightning flash As the mystery of the night unfolds The Loch Ness monster is quite brash As it swims about very bold But when the moon hides behind clouds Upon the water darkness creeps The monster's mystery it then enshrouds As it submerges, to the deep - 12-12-17

Hi Joseph, This is a good entry for the contest theme. The imagery and content is on point as well. I could just picture a beast about to emerge out of the water. I wish you the best of luck in the contest:-) Alexis

Great write, very descriptive and full of imagery. Good luck in the contest. I'm not sure, but I think you may also write at the bottom the name of the contest and the name of the person hosting the contest.

You captured it well Joseph--though the monster is not real (our tour guide assured us, it's not real), you brought it to life in your poem..best for a win!

Nice write about the legendary creature that is supposed to inhabit a lake in Scotland. Many believe it's a fabricated story told to lure more tourists to the area.

EXCELLENT ... you did it. I'm going to admit that my brain didn't register the title so it wasn't until the 5th line that I realized what you were delivering. I'm finding Ness inspiration .. well, not at all. So impressed am I with where your muse went, your imagery and description give a complete telling in lovely lines, oh, so compelling. You delivered me a Ness 'glimpse' that will linger hence (I get silly after midnight) ... CayCay
