Neglect
You walk upon the tall grass
to look closer as you pass
of what was once a place preen
now lost in neglect hiding unseen
Jagged walls that reach for the sky
naked with rubble piled up high
Windows broken without glass
a faded shadow of it's past
Once a place of industry
left in ruins to shiver misery
Abandon locked and forsaken
when no bids for survival taken
Pillaged plunder and vandalized
still in it's bones beauty survives
Grasping heaven with rusted fingers of steel beams
Hollow walls of a dead carcass of fallen dreams
