Man ...
Who trusted God was love indeed
And love Creation’s final law ~
Tho’ Nature, red in tooth and claw
With ravine, shriek’d against his creed ~

When the early bird catches the worm, its beak clenches the slimy thing real firm; then, it shakes it violently, to and fro, as if to let the dangling wriggler know, this ~ is the end of the show.
