Nature Arisen

~soft mountain blankets
goose down like flakes, winter store
        potential life thrust

~El Nino awake
     a weather serpent slither
       energized frolic

~white mountain blankets
      cascade floods of winter store
         aroused mud demon

john, I enjoyed this series of snow/water haiku. Goose down is always such a cool image for snow. I like how you took this from mountain snow all the way down to those mud demons!

This is extremely good. Your final line, in each haiku, is tremendously faithful to form, as well as wonderfully and descriptively written. Best wishes in the contest. Deb
