Nation
The house that stood up on the hill
For all the world to see
Shines the light in pearly white
And sings democracy
But beyond these walls of stone
It’s a house divided
That’s crippling our sovereignty
And all that it’s provided
Spreading wings above the world
In hopes that we would save it
But the feathers seem to never drop
To those not worth enslavement
Raging our self righteous war
To a bell ring in the tower
our leaders work a day of 4
To portray this super power
Choosing which priorities
Still too dark for some to see
Letting genocide run ramped
Like an animal in heat
Maybe it reminds them
Of a place some may call home
Leaving all the branded
In a stranded superdome
Now the powerless seek power
Just to join the status nations
With nuclear desires
So they can balance the equation
Acting on an impulse
We remove the King of Saddam
While our lack of information
is making many more Bin Laden’s
Now we have more hungry
Sneaking through our nations door
I’d rather see our sons and daughters
Sent to feed our poor
Our parents are much older now
Is medicare’s their friend
Helping them pawn their old jewelry
Trying to pay for medicine
War in the name of freedom
Is our slogan to defend
But are we in sheep’s clothing
And to whom do we pretend…
