Mystical Message

Just before dawn and I unawaken Heard a voice speaking clearly In a dream, or present, I knew not But I roused like I had been shaken. Drifting off then I heard the sound Saying, “Tell your brother to love her,” Like a rushing wind, this voice I heard “For she, his wife, is heaven-bound!” Then, with a jolt, I sat up in my bed My phone was ringing like an alarm, Voice trembling, he could find no words But the message ran through my head. I learned my sister-in-law had died In a horrible automobile accident I said to him, “She is heaven bound!” After hanging up, I cried and cried.

This is incredibly sad.It does not feel like fiction.

It's about half and half, Caren. My sister-in-law was killed in a terrible automobile accident, and I'll never forget that call.

Very eerie, and it must have shaken you quite a bit when this happened. I've had a few instances when I knew something was happening and yet, had no explanation for how I knew. There was no outside voice speaking to me... I just knew.

I've had that same experience from time to time, Jenna. Quite inexplicable. This poem is true except for the voice. There were times in the past when I knew something was going to happen, and it did. Thanks for your read and comment.

Milton is this for real or did you write this for the contest? You had me engaged in every word. Emotions brought forth with this written Narrative of yours. If it was true I am sure God had something to do with it. Either way it is a spectacular event written. Had me on the edge of my seat Milton... Good job my firend...

Michael, like in every good story, there is an element of truth and an element of fiction or poetic license. This account is partially real and partially written for the contest. If it had not been for the contest bringing it to mind, it would have not been written at all. My sister-in-law was killed in a horrible car accident, yes. Thanks for your heartfelt response.

wow this is so deep there are no words to express the emotion that went through me when I read this. Most definetely I believe in soul messages that come through in times such as these, you must be very sensitive, cuz not everyone gets them, gl in the contest

Thanks so much, Vie. I really appreciate your thoughts and your comment. I have had many, many interesting, even bizarre occurrence in my life, which are quite inexplicable. In my book, "Ashes on the Snow," I relate three of them. I think I have alluded to one or two, or wrote of them, here at Soup.
