When oppression overwhelms our senses,
we become numb to reality's sting.
And yet, hope breaches all our defenses
encouraging our spirits to take wing.
It is not within us to quit trying;
the impossible is made possible.
And when we no longer heed the lying,
the Rubicon's suddenly crossable.
Sentient beings require that they live free;
every human recognizes that need.
And until it’s an actuality,
the enslaved will always fight to be freed.
A shared source of mystery and mystique,
the human spirit's what makes us unique.
