MYSELF AND ME BY I

I would say that I am beside myself
but I cannot see any other me
or even garner what such means.
If I am truly side by side as two
then both must be clothed in obtuse.

I cannot get over myself, I once
tried and we both nearly died.
Yes, it's an impossible feat,
and one I could not complete.
No, not I, who certainly tried.

I may be out of touch with myself
but my hands can sense my skin
so, I am not a delirium figurine.
If I were simply tired of myself then
just sleeping and waking up again
would bookend dreams that mediate
peace within all my breathing states.

I will not say I cannot stand myself
because I can without need of aid
and, besides, that sounds egregious
especially to my delicate ears.
Wherever I go, myself also same time shows
and fails to sate my happiness elated
far above indigent moods that take it.

What an interesting poem. It seems to be about having all your different selves get along.

I often feel 'out of touch with myself,' CayCay, You've written an in depth analysis of the way many of us think. Congratulations on your write. I hope you're well and happy.

"bookend dreams to mediate" - this made me smile, CayCay.

Great take on the saying, "I am beside myself". I really liked this look into the meaning on non-meaning of the phrase as it applies to you. I wonder, if I were beside myself would I recognize me? : ) Best wishes in the contest my friend.

Excellent verse Cay Cay really love how you broke yourself down into little bits to investigate the paradox of life. Great job and good luck in the contest.
