Dear Andrea, if I could go to a zoo, I would do it every day! Here in Zittau we only got a small one but with a few Australian animals and a Lynx. I do love zoo animals and the best I have ever visited was the one in Singapore, many years ago. No wolves are returning to Germany and i love that dea! Thea are coming fronm Poland and the Czech Republic. Wished I coud see one at least. Thank you for your kind comment on "Bird of Innocence"..Love, Gert

Great job on this one, Andrea. L is my favorite line. HERE'S A LITTLE PICTURE PRESENT => http://daneann.redbubble.com/sets/74181/works/3273444-2-purple-gallinule some years back I painted a purple gallinule, which is one of the most colorful rails. (Click more detail...the image is too close.) I saw one in the Big Cypress National Preserve in south Fl. I hope you enjoy. The purple gallinule is in the same family as a coot. => http://www.birdperch.com/galldetq.asp?sp=00360006 SMILES< Dane

This is a wonderful list to share with children. A project maybe they could look up all the animals they have never seen. I also love the way you list the definitions at the end for those of us who have never hear of these animals. I love your humorous line "a Yeti (found naked in a blizzard) A really great poem Andrea! Love, Connie

Wow--amazing how so many animals you were able to pack into this wonderful zoo of a poem---it reminded me actually of this word game "PANTS" that I had as a child--P stood for place, A-animals, N-name, T-hing, S-score (I think!) the hardest was the animal list and hoo boy if I knew some of these animals, I would've been the winner all the time, haha! Just a quick observation, so sorry--but you missed out the letter "U"!! was so looking fwd to it since U animals are soo hard to think of! ;)
