My Truths

“Alternative truths are an oxymoron.” by poet.

                        What do my truths look like?
            In an ideal world, everyone would recognize them;
but we do not live in that world, do we?
My truths don't mean I leave no room for imagination;
                        life is more subtle than that.
Humans are not machines; truth needs the flexibility to bend
without compromising the integrity of its meaning in our lives.
      Telling a child that there's a Santa Clause isn't true;
            but there is no malicious in that deception,
                        it is a fabrication, a story.
All truths may appear to be absolute, but they're not;
            truths have varied interpretations based on how they are perceived.
      Truths are facts that stand alone;
                        without the need to believe or defend them.

I can't imagine life with no Santa Clause, but some folks do, an old folk story St Nick not so far off from the truth. Your truths have a sane and sober ring ! GL in the contest ~Anaya

I like this, Emile. Yes, truth does not need supporting embellishment, whereas lies typically do.
