My memories provide a time machine - I shut my eyes, through time I quickly fly. I'm taken back to when I was thirteen to navigate the maze of Junior High. I see a photograph and now I'm thirty; a week or two since having our first child. Still learning how to change him when he's dirty then time zips by; now HE is thirty - wild! I find myself wishing I could go back to right some wrongs and unsay words I'd said. Hug loved ones or seek wisdom that I lack; to love my parents more on their deathbed. But two things I would not change in my life: My faith in God, or marrying my wife.

See, my friend, you are getting so much into sonnets now, you too are writing ANYTHING you want with them . Very nicely done. I loved the part about your own child now 30. WILD! And mine are in the 40's now. EXTRA wild.

That is a comment worth savoring and keeping. It's been my intent to become more lucid in sonnet writing so that any given subject can be captured within its 14 line little room. Still getting there, but thanks so much for the encouragement. Hugs ~ John

Sam, your humor is batting 1.000, if mine could only bat .333 comparatively, I would be having a good day at the plate. Thanks for your double play visit today. Now go warm up, we might need you in the ninth!

Time has a way of sharpening our "what if's" and dulling the edges of some memories allowing us to handle them. Really nice sonnet of wisdom, my friend! Sending you blessings from the smokey bay! Good luck in the contest!

Amen, John. Time moves one direction. If we refuse to grow from our mistakes then we are wasting time. Take care.

How time flies John, more so as you get older. We all look back with some regrets wondering if we'd taken a different path things might have worked out better. We certainly can't change our past but we can take more care in the future having learnt from past mistakes. Tom

Don't I know it, Tom. If it weren't for the school of past mistakes, I'd be an uneducated fool. Thanks for the visit, my friend.
