My soul finds rest in God alone, my rock and my salvation, He - though arrows of the devil fly, my fortress God shall ever be. How long will sorrows plague my days? Curses and lies assaulting me - my soul finds rest in God alone, my rock and my salvation, He. O mighty rock! In you we trust, and in your refuge we are blessed. We pour out hearts of praise to you - in you alone we find our rest. We lowborn ones are but a breath, unknowing of our length of days. God is our loving source of strength, most worthy of our highest praise. Come end of troubled earthly days, His follower's reward shall be to find eternal rest in God; our rock and our salvation, He. Meditation upon Psalm 62

Such a fine piece on Psalm 62 John, really impressive indeed. I've done a couple of pieces on Psalm 62, it's a good psalm to find inspiration on. Take care of yourself, Blessings always,Gordon

It's funny how things naturally comes back to normal after putting it all on God's hands, though some situations are really difficult and bleak once you cry out to God and having faith on Him things just get better, its a phenomenon that always fascinates me. Now I wonder, since God is always there for all of us and He is whom we turn to whenever we have problems then whom does God turn to?who bears His burdens? Just food for thought! Nicely done John, stay blessed!

I have enjoyed your musings today, Rercy. From my view of Scripture, God is a trinity and derives His fellowship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Regarding the phenomenon you mentioned, it is a well-recognized cycle 1) We struggle 2) We cry out to God 3) God delivers 4) We get complacent and forget about God. It shows up often in Scripture, especially the book of Judges.

Lovely spiritual poem, John. I had not seen this one yet.The way you repeated the rock and salvation line, it was almost seeming like a quatern poem.

Thank you, my friend. I wrote this before I knew anything about quaterns and pantoums and repeating lines. Not sure why I did it that way. With a little thought, I could turn it into a modified quatern with the middle quatrain remaining in the middle. hmmm...
