My Soul

One day my soul lied to me
It claimed the Sun would always shine
The Moon would always glow
And Love would erase Hate forever
For years I believed this
I breathed this, digested this
Everyday and every night
But now I see Hate, overcome Love
The skies grow dark day and night
Storms and fires and people's lives
Are threatened everyday
And I ask my Soul "Why"
Global warming, sinners, pollution
Overpopulation. Too many cows
Causes excess methane gas which
Affects the ozone layer. Is this real?
As a child, the cow jumped over the moon,
No one cared about its poo.
Hickory, dickory, dock, the mouse ran up the clock
The adult version the Mayan clock stopped
Humanity is still here!
So many predictions of Humans' end
I don't understand why?
So many suicides,overdoses, murders,murder suicides
Let's not forget the cults with the poison coolaid.
91 deaths everyday from opioids
Life is so prescious. We were created to be better
Than the other mammals. But we are the most destructive
And self destructive mammal on the planet.
We have so much knowledge to create so much
Beauty and nurture and love
But because of greed and power and control
So much is lost and destroyed.
Third world countries starving and no healthcare
So many health epidemics
And the finger pointers just say it's someone else's fault
The homeless many of whom have mental issues
Have been displaced because mental hospitals are closed
As a child I thought like a child I dreamed like a child
But as an adult I now know this is too much for one Soul
To fix on its own. God Bless This World.
