I am shaken
shattered, crushed, lost and forsaken;
within the shadow of a broken heart
I don't know where to start;
to pick up the pieces and put them together,
the pieces at my feet will be ruined ever;
I hold this grief like a treasure;
within a soul broken.
I come a lot
with wilted roses I have bought.
Within the shadow of a broken heart
my future bleak and dark.
I speak so softly my love that I must leave you,
to your engraved name I whisper my weeping adieu;
farewell sweet prince- adieu, adieu,
I leave you my tear drop.
I must find blue
skies and nature in shades and hue;
within the shadow of a broken heart.
Oh, this lost love always a part;
I will take you with me on my twisted journey,
knowing the path will often be wild and thorny;
for I still have to live my story,
though to Heaven you flew.
