My Secrets, Not Yours, To Be Told

You betrayed my trust I should have been more perceptive For it was already broken once I was warned: don't trust that girl I should have known you couldn't be told Why can't I keep quiet All the things of passion in my heart More discerning Guarded Not bursting forth as a fountain I look you in the eye Deception reflecting from yours, in min Iced over Numb & cold Can't believe what you did Not only once, but twice It wasn't your secret to be told You didn't care enough And it easily slipped right out Those were my secrets, Not yours, to be told Not everyone is as cruel as you Leaking out secrets That were better to be kept From you altogether So many things I've learned the hard way Others know you as a gossip mill While telling another's secret But never your own Oh no You keep those locked up Because you trust no one else For you see no better in another As you know of yourself Can I forgive you? Maybe But forget? I truly don't know Because those were my secrets, Not yours, To be told
