The gift of quietness, at times, ignored,
may go unclaimed throughout my busy day.
My mind keeps running, missing the reward
that empty stillness brings to work and play.
When I indulge, my peace of mind's restored.
The gift of quietness- a silent song
that plays to soothe my weary heart and soul.
Detached from all frustrations, right or wrong,
the empty stillness hugs to soon console
the pain of stress or worry- peace, prolong.
The gift of quietness- its emptiness,
grants fullness of an aura without sound;
the silence reigns inside a loneliness
that calms and lifts my spirit to rebound-
again to face my day with happiness.
