My Prayer For My Mother
I pray, Mom, that you are greeting children as they arrive.
I see you in your white gown, and your beautiful black curly hair.
You are wearing that mom smile I love, and you are filled with joy.
The children are confused but immediately run to you, understanding.
I pray that you are not spending all of your time cleaning up there.
I pray that you are playing with children – teaching them games.
Lead them to Jesus, who believes in you the way you believe in Him.
Mother, I close my eyes and see children in your lap, feeling beloved.
I pray mother, that I will instantly recognize you when I arrive.
You will throw your arms around me, and I can feel your heartbeat.
I hope that you are happy up there, joyful and excited to be there.
Mother, you are in my heart and my prayers always. I love you, Mom.
