My New Sweet Boy, Brady
My sweet boy left me almost none months ago,
he was old and frail covered in agony and pain-
I was filled with anguish, heartache and woe,
but so many find memories have remained.
I prayed one day I’d find another sweet boy,
one who’d bring healing and peace in my heart-
A puppy to bring me freedom and joy,
so searching around for a puppy I did start.
We met a breeder one warm Summer day,
a little Golden Retriever ran straight up to us-
He was adorable and had his own ways,
so calm in nature, never made a fuss.
So we took him home and gave him a warm bed,
my daughter came up with the name Brady-
I gently rubbed his belly and caressed his head,
for he was my light, he had saved me.
Now he’s comfy at our home and loves to play,
puppy breath and sharp teeth everywhere-
I’ll never forget the most wonderful day,
we made him part of our family with care.
He looks just like Bo did when he was young,
same golden ears with dark brown eyes-
Sloppy kisses with that silly wet tongue,
an angel in the morning, but a devil in disguise.
I realized now how special he will become,
a forever home he found with my family-
My sweet boy Brady is so much fun,
and will live a long happy life with us three.
